Yep I second the pew science guy, use the SF3P or 4p for best gas seal and less carbon lock. Edit: and comps are dumb on rifles (YMMV). I found that while it did reduce the group size my almost half by reducing the vertical dispersion, it also lowered the point of aim about 14 MOA, and moved it further to the left to the extreme range of adjustment for the rear sight.Pin the FH.
I tried a slip over flash hider as the early Mini 14s often have reduced barrel harmonics with some weight a the muzzle. I was hoping this would also fit the Mini-30, but man was I wrong! The inside diameter of the front sight was 0.54”, and although the barrel on the Mini-30 was tapered, at the widest point where the new sight would go, the barrel measured 0.62”. makes a combination front sight and flash suppressor for the Mini-14.

I don't know if they offer a model that will fit the Mini, but if so, it is in my opinion the best …It gives your Mini 14 a M14 look. Try the Vortec offered by Smith Enterprise. It really is the perfect balance all the best general purpose muzzle device. The cost is a bit steep and it is fairly heavy for a muzzle device (IMO), however, I have not used a better performing muzzle brake with all things considered (Flash suppression, Low concussion, recoil reduction). Standing right next to it, you feel some blast, but because the gas is dissipated almost 360 degrees around the muzzle brake, once you are a couple feet away from it, it really isnt that noticeable. Flash signature is low, similar to what you get from an A2. Just got the EFAB muzzle brake for my 16inch 5.56 and it is amazing. The EFAB is also effective but without the blast! We posted a video here Had a hypertap first and it was extremely effective but lots of blast to my face. The EFAB is ideal for my Tavor bullpup rifle (5.56). Never thought a $200 muzzle device could be something I rant and rave over but this thing is absolutely top-tier. The porting is also super clean and well done. Reduction of shooter blast, recoil, & muzzle rise was very (very) good! Flash suppression is as good as A2 in cloudy overcast daylight. Works very well compared to the original A2. There are probably better device options for a specific desired function (flash suppression only, concussion only, compensation only), but I don't think you'll find anything better at doing all 3 very well. Bottom line, am buying a second one for my other rifle. It is louder than just a flash hider, but no concussion. 308/5.56 both kill the flash n reduce recoil. You can't find a better hybrid device period, the machining and promised performance of these check all the boxes. My AFAB is on a 18" build and works great as well, but these EFAB's work better for shorter builds. Brakes well, acts as a comp, and provides almost zero flash. The EFAB works amazing on my shorter 10.5" and 14.5" barrels.
